The Damn Newsletter -- Cherish The Day

Greetings and Salutations,

Once again it's the incredible..."it" being The Damn Newsletter of course...lol.

I only have two words for you...No Time. Ladies and Gentlemen I have a lot on my plate. Working a demanding job, Trying to be the best dad I can be, Newsletter writing, Band managing, Artists Developing, Writing (you know other than the newsletter), Social networking, Communicating and hanging out with my friends...shoot, I still hadn't cleared my DVR yet. I need an assistant in the worst way...any volunteers??? But I'm not complaining. Just letting you all know why I feel I have been slacking on you all. I'll work it out...I promise.

One of the biggest things I have to work out is of course the newsletter. December is quickly approaching which will mark the 5 year anniversary of The Damn Newsletter. I can't believe I have been writing this for this long. I want and need your thoughts on what I should do for the 5 year anniversary. Some of your have been here through the beginning and some of you have just been added recently but all of your opinions matter, so let me know!!!

Shout out time!!! Shout Out of the Week goes out to Tammy Taylor and Kina Reed.

First Tammy you have battled through a lot of tribulations this past year but every time I see you there's the biggest smile on your face. Now I don't know if that's because you looking and Jarratt "Damn" Butler or it's due to your positivity...but I like to think it's both...lol. Keep battling sweetie, you are a survivor!!!

Speaking of survivors, Kina you're up next. I have literally seen you get knocked down by life a few times and you have just brush the dirt off and came back harder than an old man on Viagra. You don't mope or whine...you just deal with it. Definitely something I can't do...I'm a whiner for sure!!! Lol. This goes without saying but I'm there for you...regardless of the whole I'm your ex-boyfriend thing...lol.

There's an old saying that "One day you're here and then you're gone". Okay, technically it's from UGK but the point is it can all be gone in a flash. Your friends, your money, your health and even your life can disappear in seconds. Now although there is no way to prevent this from happening, (although I am working on it) you can cherish the day you have...which is today. In order for me to "Cherish the Day" I have come up with a list of things I am going to do to embrace my 24.

1) Any time I speak to a loved one I will tell them I love you...
2) I will take at least 20 minutes for myself...
3) Once a month I will do something that I have never done before...
4) I will slay something that scares me at least once a week...
5) I will give back to not only others but my community...

Now this is my list so far. I have will continue to evolve it and expand it. I challenge each of you to create your own list and that will enable you to live for the moment...makes sense don't it?

Those are just my thoughts...right or wrong...just what I was feeling at the time!!!
