The Lee Donnie Wright Legacy Award - This is the Lifetime Achievement award of this show. This person has made such an influence on my life that they have become a part of me. Becoming permanent part of people's life is a definition of legacy. This recipient will be mine definition.

This year's recipient is my late grandfather Batiste Butler, Jr.  My words posted on August 6th via Facebook effectively illustrate how I felt at the time of his passing.

Well I can't say that I was not preparing myself for this after last year but now the last of my grandparents has finally given up his physical form and ascended to heaven to join the rest of them. PaPa just got there and is probably already arguing with Grandma (who probably started on him) and Muddear is looking at them both laughing. I pray for the continued strength of my family and want each of them to know that I stand ready to be there for all of you. Love you all...RIP Batiste Butler JR!!!!

A remarkable man, great story teller, wonderful husband & father, and an individual that taught so many guys how to be men just by his actions.
